Children learning together with an educator in the Al Manarat Special Education Program

Individualized learning, practical skills, and Islamic character development for children ages 4 to 12.

Our approach

Every child brings unique strengths, needs, and potential.

The Al Manarat Special Education Program provides individualized support and structured learning in a caring Islamic environment. Through purposeful small-group learning, we help students build confidence, communication, practical skills, and greater independence.

A thoughtful first step: every family begins with a consultation and individual assessment.
Who we support

Support shaped around the whole child

Each child is considered individually through a parent consultation and assessment. Support may focus on one or more of these areas.

Communication

Language, expression, understanding, and social interaction.

Regulation

Emotional regulation, positive behaviour, attention, and comfort.

Learning

Academic skills, classroom participation, and learning readiness.

Independence

Daily routines, practical skills, confidence, and self-advocacy.

Motor and sensory

Fine-motor, gross-motor, movement, and sensory needs.

The learning day

A balanced program for learning, character, and growth

Engaging learning

Adapted activities strengthen communication, cooperation, academic participation, and social confidence.

Islamic knowledge and character

Accessible Islamic learning builds manners, compassion, responsibility, and a meaningful sense of belonging.

Creative, sensory, and motor activities

Arts, sensory experiences, and movement support expression, regulation, coordination, and physical confidence.

Assessment and admission

A thoughtful beginning for every family

The intake process helps the school understand each child’s strengths, current skills, learning needs, communication, participation, and required level of support.

Parent consultation

We begin with the family’s priorities, questions, and understanding of the child.

Individual assessment

Staff observe skills, participation, communication, regulation, and learning needs.

Program plan

Appropriate goals and supports are identified and discussed clearly with the family.

Admission decision

Placement is based on whether the program can safely and meaningfully meet the child’s needs.

A caring Islamic environment

Children grow when they feel welcomed, understood, and encouraged.

Our program combines educational and developmental support with Islamic knowledge, manners, compassion, and respect. Children are supported at their own pace while remaining connected to a nurturing school community.

Claude Raied’s MacBook Pro (2), Connected Pasted text.txt Pasted text.txt TXT update the green to this colour and its variations in #68014A Shared a file, ran a command I’ve swapped every green in the stylesheet for plum based on #68014A. The updated file is styles-plum.css, and no green values are left in it. Role Was Now --deep (buttons, banner, panels) #0e4b3a #68014a --ink (body text) #173a2f #3d0a2e --green (mid tone) #6f9a75 #a05880 --sage (light accent) #dce9d7 #f0dce8 --muted (secondary text) #5a6c64 #6e5a66 CTA gradient end #1d6a53 #8e1a66 Light backgrounds (soft section, nav chips, card tints) #f1f6ed, #edf4e9, #eff7ec, #edf5e9 #f8eef3, #f6e9f0, #f6e8f0, #f5e6ee Borders and shadows green-tinted rgba plum-tinted rgba I didn’t change the gold, cream, pink and blue. The pink (--pink and the fourth support card) is now close to the new plum tints, so if those cards look too alike, switching that card to a peach like #fdeee4 would set it apart. Styles plum Code ·CSS 1793761889764_image.png the who we support section is not looking good on responsiveness. the motor and sensory is being cut off Shared a file, ran a command I’ve fixed the cut-off in styles-plum.css, but I haven’t checked it in a browser. Please reload the page and look at a few window widths. Why it was cut off: the “Who we support” cards were set to always be 5 across until the window was under 980px wide. The sticky side menu takes up about 260px, so on a medium-width screen each card was only about 140px wide. Words like “Independence” and “sensory” didn’t fit, and the last card got pushed outside the visible area. What I changed: Line 232: the cards now sit side by side only while each one can be at least 200px wide. Below that they wrap onto another row. Depending on the space, you’ll get 5 across, then 3 + 2, then 2 + 2 + 1, then 1 per row on phones. Cards: added min-width: 0 so a long word can’t push a card wider than its column. Removed the fixed 2-column rule at 980px and the 1-column rule at 640px. The wrapping now handles those sizes. In the 3 + 2 layout, the bottom row leaves the third spot empty. If you’d rather the two bottom cards stretch to fill the full width, tell me and I’ll switch it. Styles plum Code ·CSS make the same change but for the green colour Shared a file, ran a command styles-green.css is your original green stylesheet with the same layout fix for the “Who we support” cards. Nothing else in it changed, so all the original green colours are still there. The cards now wrap onto more rows instead of getting cut off: 5 across on wide screens, then 3 + 2, down to 1 per row on phones. I haven’t opened it in a browser, so check a few window widths.
